A new compound has resulted in the next generation GT Radial SportActive 2 evo and FE2 evo arriving into Europe with a marked improvement in wet and dry performance and an esteemed AutoBild ‘good’ rating.

The GT Radial SportActive 2 evo is available now in an initial run of 19 sizes with rims from 17-20”, section widths from 225-255 and series sizes from 35-55.
The tyre retains all the established features of the GT Radial SportActive 2 which was created to deliver active control for sporty driving, while improving wet and dry braking and handling by 2-9% to give an extra layer of dynamic performance.
Precise steering is boosted with a special sidewall contour while a computer optimised groove design ensures faster water evacuation, all leading to a predictable performance for driving confidence.
Giving independent credibility to the improvements, the tyre has been rated as ‘good’ in the new AutoBild 2026 Summer Tyre Test. Ranked eight, the German automobile magazine concluded the tyre to be a ‘price breaker with low costs per kilometer, safe in wet and dry conditions and consistently competitive’.
Further proving its improved performance in wet conditions the tyre was only one of only three to receive top marks in the ‘cornering aquaplaning’ test alongside two leading premium manufacturer patterns.
Fabio Pecci-Boriani, Deputy General Manager for Product Planning PCR and LTR, Giti Tire R&D Centre (Europe), starts: “This is the second time in the last three years that the SportActive 2 has received a ‘good’ rating from AutoBild, and this year the new evo model sits comfortably among several premium manufacturers’ latest tyres. It was also the quietest on test, hugely important for EV vehicles.”

Also launched is the GT Radial FE2 evo which comes to market in 42 sizes with rims from 15-18”, section widths from 165-235 and series sizes from 50-70.
Pitched as the the all-rounder for a relaxed and enjoyable journey, the new compound also delivers vastly improved wet and dry braking and handling while delivering a 4% increase in mileage potential.
Specially designed polymers increase wear resistance while an optimised pitch sequence reduces noise generation.
Several key sizes across the new evo tyres feature the brand’s EV Ready logo on the sidewall showing clearly which fulfil the differing performance requirements of both EV and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles.
“Over the last few years leading magazine tests have independently confirmed the strength and consistency of our GT Radial products, with the SportActive 2, FE2 and the ClimateActive all receiving ‘good’ ratings in the press,” concluded Pecci.
“We remain committed to developing and engineering high quality tyres that will bring pleasure and satisfaction to our customers while remaining extremely price-performance competitive.”
The new GT Radial evo tyres were designed and engineered at Giti Tire’s European Research & Development Centre in Hannover, Germany.
